Using currently available liquid scintillation counters, this test method can measure the <sup>55<\/sup>Fe activity concentrations in the range from the limit of detection up to 120\u00a0mBq\u00a0l<sup>-1<\/sup>. These values can be achieved with a counting time between\u00a07\u00a0200\u00a0s and\u00a010\u00a0800\u00a0s for a sample volume from\u00a00,5\u00a0l to\u00a01,5\u00a0l.
